Jumping off the ROCK!

i have been wanting to go to waimea bay ever since we have come to live in hawaii. it has a massive beach, its protected from some wind, and it has a fun rock to jump off of.
downside.. the parking lot is the smallest thing i've ever seen! it is incredibly hard to find a place to park, but on one glorious fine day (which was yesterday..) joey and i were one of the lucky people who found a place to park. After we argued about whether or not we should park in a no parking tow away zone, i won and we found another place to park on the side of the road where we did not get towed!!

did i mention that the beach is massive?
it is..
so finding a place to lay out was quite easy. while i enjoyed some sun time, joey went for a swim and explored the ocean floor a little bit. he went to go jump of waimea rock first to see how easy or hard it was to do. i sat anxiously awaiting his return. Once he came back he was ready to go again but i had cold feet..

when i was finally ready to conquer the rock we climbed on up, which really wasn't that difficult, and then i took it all in. it was quite a view from the top and the way down looked like fun. i was a little nervous but i got in line and waited for my turn. when i was finally staring at the water from the top of the rock and joey was counting to three, i jumped on two and left my nerves on the rock! hitting the water was a rush and i resurfaced with a smile on my face!
i am proud to say i conquered waimea rock and we video taped it too.. enjoy!

this one is me jumping

then it was Joey's turn

on top of waimea rock

everyone on top of the rock waiting to jump off

its almost my turn!

i jumped off of that!!

Pupukea Beach

As Joey and I were trying to figure out what to do one fine Hawaiian day, and realized we would like to try out a new beach. We headed out and wound up at pupukea beach.
we fell in love with this beach immediately!
the beach is nice and sandy, there is easy access in and out of the water, and the snorkeling is divine!
since falling in love with this beach we have gone back many times.
we have even brought bread with us to feed to the little fishies.
times like these i wish we had an underwater camera because the fish here are gorgeous!
plus when they figure out that you have bread they swim around you and will even eat the bread right out of your hands! but then they start to think your hair is food and it gets a little creepy but still way cool! haha
the coral is gorgeous, the fish are beautiful and the beach is stupendous! an A+ beach in our book!!

a shot of Pupukea beach

just hangin out :)
